About the Le Creuset Tradition whistling kettle
This Le Creuset whistling kettle is a high-quality addition to any kitchen. These vintage-look kettles offer the excellent quality that Le Creuset is known for. The Tradition whistling kettles are made from steel and have an enamelled interior and exterior. This means stains are easy to remove and scratches are barely visible.
The kettles in the Tradition collection have an ample capacity of 2.1 litres. You can easily fill the kettle by removing the wide lid. The large opening means it is easy to fill, rinse or clean the kettle. Another great aspect of the kettle is that it can be used on all cooking hobs, including induction.
The kettle will whistle when the water starts to boil. Time to remove the kettle from the stove. The handle remains nice and cool, so you can remove the kettle from the hob straight away. We do recommend that you use an oven glove just in case. After all, the boiling water could splash when you pour it out.
Maintenance and use
Before using the kettle, remove the labels and packaging. Then wash the kettle in warm water. Afterwards, bring clean water to a boil and pour out the water after it has boiled. Make sure the kettle is never filled further than the line on the outside of the kettle. To prevent the kettle from boiling dry, you do however need to fill it up to at least the bottom row of dots on the inside of the kettle. Boiling it dry can damage the kettle or cooking hob, something you want to avoid at all costs.
Always choose a suitable heat source and temperature when boiling water. When using a gas hob, make sure that the flames never reach up the sides of the kettle. After removing the kettle from the heat source, make sure you wait 5 or 10 seconds before you open the whistle. Allow the kettle to cool down fully before you boil more water. These whistling kettles simply cannot cope with the sudden difference in temperature. If you won't be using the kettle for a little while, we recommend you empty it and dry it properly. This prevents limescale build-up and keeps the kettle working efficiently.
