The H14R.2 is a head lamp by Led Lenser, which follows the curve of your forehead very nicely. As a result, it sits firmly on your head and will not tilt. The dial on the battery holder is a smart touch, with which the light intenstity of the LED can be set continuously. This button can be pressed to operate the red LED's in the battery compartment. These increase your visibility. You can also use this button to choose between different lighting programmes: Easy mode, Power mode, Blink mode and Boost mode. Using the switch on the lamp itself, you can switch your head lamp on or off. You can also choose different output modes with this switch.  
   


In the Boost mode you will get 1000 lumens. After 30 seconds the headlamp will switch back to the previously chosen mode.  
  


The ring around the reflector can be shifted inwards or outwards. This operates the by Led Lenser well known Advanced Focus System. This system enables you to widen the beam for a good overview, or focus it to create a huge beam throw.  
  


The H14R. 2 operates on a supplied battery pack, that can be recharged in the battery compartment. The required adapter is included in delivery. But if necessary, you can also use 4 AA batteries. Both alkaline and NiMH batteries can be used. The charging cable can also use a USB port as power source. Whichever suits you best. A red/green colored LED shows how far the charging process has progressed.

Prijzige lamp, maar wat een bak licht komt er uit.
Pluspunten:
- Heel veel licht dat makkelijk in een brede of smalle baan in te stellen is.
- Nauwelijks donkere plekken in de lichtbaan.
- Draairegeling voor de lichtsterkte heeft twee inschakelbare rode leds, die tijdens het wandelen in het donker als mini achterlicht werken (al complimenten van achterop komende weggebruikers voor gekregen, terwijl ik aan de linkerkant van de weg liep, ze vallen dus echt wel op).
- Draagcomfort is ook met het battery-pack achter op het hoofd goed.
- Accu gaat lang mee.
- Naast de meegeleverde accu kunnen er ook 4 AA batterijen of accu’s in, je kunt dus reserve accu’s meenemen.

Er zijn een paar kleine minpuntjes:
- Behuizing van het battery-pack gaat heel makkelijk open en lijkt minder robuust dan de lamp aan de voorzijde.
- Ook met de lamp op de zachtste stand is het licht nog behoorlijk fel.
- Je moet wel een beetje opletten dat je tegemoetkomend verkeer niet verblind.

Dit weekend voor het eerst geprobeerd in het veld en bos. Top lamp met een geweldige lichtopbrengst. Zou  voor mij nog gerust wat meer mogen dimmen maar draad comfort is prima met een prima zicht op de brede lichtbundel. Na dit weekend snap ik ook beter het prijskaartje.  Aanrader
