The starting point for Wüsthof's wonderful Amici collection was 'la dolce vital: the sweet life. Good food and drinks, socialising with family and friends and feeling good about yourself. That is what Wüsthof wants to convey with this collection. Each knife is more than just a tool. It symbolises the joy of cooking and spending time together with family and friends. Hence the name: Amici. It is a tradition that is handed down from generation to generation. The knives are a combination of quality, aesthetics and the experience of producing kitchen knives.
Blade made from X50CrMoV15 steel
The blades of the Amici knives are made from one piece of X50Cr15MoV steel. This is a frequently used Western type of steel with excellent qualities. It can withstand rust, but at the same time it is strong enough with a hardness of 58 HRC. It is a type of steel you can also easily sharpen yourself if need be. The blade of these knives runs throughout the entire olive wood handle.
Olive wood handle
The handle is made from stunning Calabrian olive wood. Calabria is a region in the south of Italy. The wood has a beautiful pattern that is unique to each knife, as it is a natural product. This means that the knives you see in the photos may differ from the one you receive at home. These will only be minor deviations in the pattern on the handle. To keep the handle beautiful as long as possible, it is important not to put the knife in the dishwasher. Wash the knives by hand after use and dry them properly.
Top-quality knives with a stylish design
The knives from the Amici collection have a stylish design. The design of each knife has elegantly curved lines, from the blade to the handle. The handle feels great in hand. The knives are enhanced with a full crop, to keep your fingers safe. The blade runs all the way through the handle, which is known as full-tang construction. As such, the knife is nicely balanced and amazing to use.
