The **Casström Lars Fält Knife** is a fixed-blade bushcraft knife designed by outdoor legend Lars Fält. Fält is an expert on bushcraft and survival skills. He has written many books and has been organising fieldtrips in the great outdoors for years. If anybody knows what a good knife should adhere to, it is Lars Fält.

The blade has a traditional drop point shape. As such you can easily use it during wood work. The edge has a scandi grind. This is also optimal for wood work and very easy to sharpen. The blade is made from Sleipner steel. Sleipner is a tough type of tool steel similar to D2, but with an even better sharpness retention. Very tough and easy to sharpen. It is important to oil the blade after use: Sleipner is not stainless.

The handle is made from a nice piece of curly birch wood. That is birch root wood. Casström has stabilized this wood to make it as sustainable as possible. A black liner is placed in between the wood and the handle. This looks amazing and at the same time it absorbs the blows between the handle and the blade.

As you are used to from Casström, the handle is very ergonomically shaped. It nicely fills your hand and offers enough curves and grip to be able to use it for a long period of time. The blade is quite long in comparison to the handle. This allows you to baton slightly thicker stems and branches without the blade becoming too long.

To safely carry the Casström Lars Fält knife with you, a leather sheath for right-handed use is included. It features an in integrated firesteel loop. This has a belt loop for belts up to 6 cm.

Très beau, costaud, entièrement satisfait.

I bought this knife, the SFK No.10 and tje Woodsman together.
Contrarily to my thoughts, this one, the Lars Fält knife, does perfectly suit in my hands! Shape and size of the handle are simply perfect for my hands (i haven’t giants hand but neither hobbit hands! 20cm from the tip of the middle finger to the bottom end of the palm, and 9cm from side to side of the palm).
Compared to the SFK No.10, the blade of this knife is obviously bigger; this wasn’t a wanted feature for me because I find the size of the SFK No.10 blade a real all-round one, but to me, there is something not comfortable in my hands (handle shape i guess).
It’s a real thick piece of steel ideal for bushcraft of course, but a step towards survival section. 
Really powerful knife for batoning.
It comes razor sharp and it bites into the wood really deep.
Making feathersticks with this knife is really really easy.
Maybe a fusion between the two knives features (size of the blade / shape of the handle) would be the perfection.
