Are your knives in need of sharpening?


The Naniwa Specialty Stone-series is the improved version of the well-known Super Stones-series. Naniwa has renewed the binding agent of the water stones. It is unique that Naniwa itself takes care of the production of the binding agent. Optimal matching to the grit size is important. The result of this is that the sharpening properties of Naniwa water stones are significantly better than sharpening stones of other brands even though the grit size is comparable. The Specialty Stones are hard sharpening stones so it is not very likely that your knife will 'bite' into the stone. Also the wear of the stone is minimal; they have a very long lifespan. However, it is advisable to regularly clean the sharpening stone with a 'dressing stone'.  
  


The Specialty Stones are synthetic resin-bound. The absorption of water is minimal so you only have to wet them and you can immediately start the sharpening process. They do not have to be submerged. The water stones will wear very slowly during the sharpening process. The advantage of this is that the stone cleans itself, as it were. Despite the 'wear' a Specialty Stone will have a very long lifespan.  
  

**About the grit size**
Sharpening stones are delivered with several grit sizes. The larger the number, the finer the grit. The finer the grit, the sharper the sharpening result. You start the sharpening process with a coarse grit and then continue with a finer grit. Steps of a factor two to three between the different grit sizes are ideal.  
  

**Indication for the selection of the correct sharpening stone:**


* Grit 200 to 600: suitable for repairing the cut of blunt knives

* Grit 800 to 1000: suitable for the sharpening of knives that are in a good condition

* Grit 2000 to 3000: for a sharper sharpening result than the condition in which many new knives are delivered

* Grit 5000 to 12000: for the sharpening of knives into a razor sharp condition

Ich liebe diese Schleifsteine sie liegen im mittleren Preisegment aber sind in der Qualität schwer zu Topen !!! Die Bindung des Schleifgranulats ist sehr fest dadurch halten die Steine ihre Form sehr gut !!! Im Gegensatz zu günstigen Schleifsteinen hält hier auch die Körnungsangabe was sie verspricht mit #3000 poliert man schon die schneide was mit günstigen weichgebundenen Steinen nicht der Fall ist . Lange Rede kurzer Sinn absolute Kaufempfehlung !!! Vielen Dank an KniveandTools für den Klasse Service und den Blitzschnellen Versand weiter so !!!!

Works well to get kitchen knives and chisels very sharp quite quickly.  All you need unless you have chipped the edge and need to reprofile. Does clog with metal dust from the tools you are sharpening but you can clean very quickly with some fine wet and dry on a flat glass plate. Stone is quite hard so won't bow too quick.

le produit présentait quelques défauts de surface mais très minimes. donc je l'ai gardé car je ne pense pas que cela nuise à son utilisation.
sinon je trouve le prix de ces pierres a aiguiser d'une façon général assez élevé .
