The **Schrade Small Fixed Blade SCHF57** is a solid survival knife for a good price. The combination of black G10 and a coated blade gives it a tough look and feel. The texture on the G10 provides a rock-solid grip. Even in wet conditions, you don't have to be afraid to slide off the handle.

 The blade is made from 65Mn steel. That's a tough type of tool steel that can handle quite a lot. It is also easy to sharpen. 65Mn is only not completely stainless. That is why you need to occasionally maintain your knife. Fortunately, Schrade add a coating to the blade to prevent most of the rust. The hollow grind ensures that the knife is amazing to use. It comes in a kydex sheath. This sheath keeps it perfectly in place. The sheath has a belt loop that can accommodate straps up to 5.0 cm wide. If desired, you can also attach the belt loop somewhere else on the sheath. As such you can decide how to carry the knife with you.

 Schrade makes great knives for good prices. That's what they are good at. There are few brands that can compete with these kinds of prices. This does, however, mean that the finish isn't always perfect. Not something to worry about, and in line with the prices.

nice small knife, but the one I  have has a problem with the sheet and edge retention - putting in the sheet slightly damage its edge. 

It a ok knife but the belt holder does get in the way a bit.

Prima mesje voor een even klein prijsje. De vorm ligt niet zo heel goed in de hand. Zou iets slanker mogen zijn bij de overgang tussen blad en handvat.
