The Gerber Controller 6" is a fixed filleting knife for fishermen. Gerber worked with multiple experienced fishermen to come up with the perfect design. The long blade is, because of the wafer-thin 9Cr18MoV steel, perfect when filleting a fish. The blade is slightly flexible to make the task a little easier. Gerber used 9Cr18MoV because it is a robust, sharp and stainless type of steel. You can also easily clean the blade because of the nicely polished finish. There are three different versions of the Controller: 6", 8" and the 10". Because there are many different types of fish, a properly sized knife is very important.
The Gerber Controller is enhanced with a well-thought-out handle. The handle is made from multiple materials. TPE: thermoplastic elastomer and FRN: glass reinforced nylon. Both materials provide you with enough grip in humid surroundings. The entire handle is also enhanced with a texture. This texture, in combination with the finger grooves, provides you with enough grip and ensures that the knife will stay in place as you fillet a fish. On top of the handle you will find a cut-out for your thumb. Thanks to this thumb groove you have more control as you use the knife, which is very important when you fillet a fish.
The sheath is also excellent. The very royal ventilation holes ensure that the sheath can completely be rinsed off after use. The knife is properly secured in the sheath and is kept in place with the buckle. The sheath comes with belt loop and a robust clip. As such you can easily hang the Gerber Controller from your backpack, belt or pocket. The inside is enhanced with a sharpening steel to make sure you easily sharpen the knife, no matter where you are.
