The **Wüsthof sharpening steel 4483, 26 cm** has a diamond-coated abrasive layer. This makes this sharpening steel suitable for sharpening the hardest types of steels. An additional advantage is the abrasion-resistance of diamond. The sharpening rod, therefore, has an exceptionally long service life.

 The choice of material is of great importance when choosing the sharpening steel. As stated, diamond sharpening steels do not wear and can last a lifetime. Ceramic sharpening steels wear but have the advantage of removing slightly less material. So often sharpen your blades is better for their lifespan. Take careful attention to the length: the sharpening steel should be at least as long as the longest kitchen knife you want to sharpen.

Omdat mijn messen eigenlijk nooit bot worden kan ik, meestal, volstaan met het slijpen met een staaf. Ik maak gebruik van deze Wusthof diamantslijpstaaf en daarna slijp ik met een keramische slijpstaaf verder. Reden daartoe is dat deze diamantstaaf het mes prima scherp maakt maar voor mij te grof. Dat voel je als je voorzichtig langs de snede voelt. Dan pak ik mijn keramische slijpstaaf van Skerper en haal een paar keer per kant, dus wel om en om, en als je dan weer voelt is ie echt lekker scherp. Wil ik nog meer dan pak ik daarna vaak nog een lederen strop maar dat is in principe niet echt noodzakelijk. Dus deze diamantstaaf voldoet prima mits je daarna verder slijpt met bv een veel fijnere keramische slijpstaaf.

Als je niet wil investeren in een set waterstenen is dit een goed alternatief. Samen met een keramische slijpstaaf kan je dan uw messen scherp houden. Met Deze slijpstaaf bekom je een ruwe afwerking die je met een keramische staaf kan verfijnen.

Voldoet volledig aan mijn verwachtingen, netjes en snel bezorgd

Geweldig handig zo'n slijpstaaf even je mes er overheen en snijden maar, een must have in de keuken.
Ligt goed in de hand.
Handig in gebruik.
En je messen worden weer als nieuw.
Voor een heel, heel, heel scherp resultaat gebruik ik na de slijpstaaf een NANINA stone.
Maarde slijpstaaf Wusthof is heel handig voor in de keuken gebruik hem bijna iedere dag.
