Set of sharpening stones for the Wicked Edge sharpening system. Grit 800 and 1000.

The **Wicked Edge Diamond-coated sharpening stones, fine 800/1000** are two sharpening stones for the Wicked Edge sharpening systems. The sharpening stones are comprised of a plastic base with diamond-coated sharpening stones on top. The sharpening stones have two grain sizes: the light blue side is 800 grit and the dark blue side is 1000 grit.

The grain sizes of the American Wicked Edge, however, are different from Japanese grain sizes. These sharpening stones have a grain size of 800 and 1000. This is comparable to a J900 and J1700 Japanese sharpening stone. 

These stones have a medium coarseness and are therefore perfect when sharpening your sharp knives. Are your knives blunt? If so, it is best to sharpen them with coarser sharpening stones. I was wondering if I should skip these stones but I decided to buy them and I am not regretting my decision, finer then this might defeat the purpose. I love wicked edge it will last a lifetime.

Expensive, as is all Wicked Edge gear but these stones are a great addition to the often included 200/ 600 grit stones. 
The 800/ 1000 grits have the ability to just refine the edge that bit further. Edges sharpened with these stones are left crisp, smooth and hair popping sharp with a lot of the toothiness smoothed out.
