When you think of Zwilling, you think about the Four Star series! Since its introduction in 1976, these knives belong to the most popular series in the whole wide world. Even today they are as relevant as when they first came out. It is not that strange because well-known professional chefs are involved with development. Like many other Zwilling series, the steel that is used for the Four Star is ice-hardened Friodur steel. The laser-cut edge is absolutely razor-sharp. The seamless handle, which is made out of exceptionally high-quality plastic, is very comfortable to handle.

Knives are sharp. Now we have to be careful not to accidentally cut ourselves. 

Very light in hands. Would prefer them to be a bit heavier. I wouldn't say they feel flimsy, however, a bit of weight would definitely make them feel more solid & premium. A bit of weight will also make them easier to manoeuvre too.

The set offers all types of knives we need. We went for Zwilling for an upgrade and overall we are very happy with the purchase.
 

Een verademing om te gebruiken. Was vergeten hoe scherp messen konden zijn. De samenstelling van het messenblok is erg handig. Het zijn bijna allemaal messen die je voor dagelijks gebruik nodig hebt, alhoewel je het vleesmes misschien nog wel zou kunnen missen en ik de voorkeur geef aan een (losse) Zwilling slijper i.p.v. het meegeleverde aanzetstaal. Het messenblok is van bamboe en dat vind ik persoonlijk wat mooier dan het nogal goedkoop ogende lichte berkenhout dat je bij veel andere messenblokken ziet.

Helemaal happy!! Had de lade vol liggen met messen maar geen enkel mes deed wat het moest doen. Nu een overzichtelijk blok, ruimte over in de lade en ..... messen die vlijmscherp zijn, heerlijk, wat een genot!

We measure the sharpening angle ourselves. This value is the angle per side.  So 20º means that the total angle of the edge is 40º. Please note that knives are almost always sharpened by hand, even in factories. This value is therefore only an indication of a single tool measured by us.
