GiantMouse Knives is the brainchild of Jesper Voxnaes and Jens Ansø. These two Danish designers have been making a name for themselves in terms of European pocket knife design for years. With Jim Wirth, an American collector and entrepreneur, they decided to start their own knife brand: GiantMouse Knives. A brand that combines the sleek, minimalist and functionality-focused Danish design of Ansø and Voxnaes in one brand. But a good design alone won't do you much good. That's where GiantMouse's Italian and Chinese friends come in. They have decades of experience in making high-end knives from the very best materials. It's a ‘match made in heaven’.

## Why choose Ansø of Denmark? 
Where many brands focus mainly on tactical features, Ansø of Denmark takes inspiration from nature and opts for a thoughtful balance between usability and ergonomics. He has a distinct design philosophy: designing knives with an emphasis on functionality, but accentuated with style. Rooted in Danish tradition, Ansø combines, among other things, handmade knives from Jutland with the sharpness and expertise of Japanese steelwork. His Njord series, kitchen knives with 33-layer San Mai blades and hand-formed oak or ash handles, is designed to last for generations and was awarded a prestigious 2020 Red Dot Award. The Ansø of Denmark Toko is a sleek and modern pocket knife, typical of Jens Ansø's timeless style. The hollow-ground RWL34's drop-point blade makes the knife ideal for comfortable and versatile cutting. The frame in the handle, which features Mud-Track milling technology, makes for an ultra-light and robust design. Thanks to the flipper, the knife opens smoothly and locks securely with the button lock. Each one is handmade in Denmark and features Skiff Grade 5 ceramic bearings. 

### Ansø Aros
The Ansø of Denmark Aros is a subtle and thoughtful EDC flipper knife with a hollow-ground, modified wharncliffe blade. This combines the precision of a wharncliffe with the versatility of a droppoint. The interchangeable handles, available in titanium, micarta, ultem and brass, offer a lot of variety in style and use. The flipper also acts as a finger guard, giving extra security during demanding cutting tasks. This model is also part of the Shop Built collection and equipped with Skiff Grade 5 ceramic bearings. 

## History of Ansø of Denmark 
After 23 years of experience designing knives, Jens Ansø founded his own workshop in 2001. Soon he managed to distinguish himself in the world of high-end knives. As an industrial designer, Ansø never stands still: if he is not designing knives, he is working on his line of carabiners, credit card holders or other EDC tools. Not choosing the cheapest route, but always the best, that typifies his work and is the thread running through his career. Jens Ansø has worked with renowned brands such as Böker, Fox, Spyderco, Kershaw and Zero Tolerance. Thanks in part to these collaborations, Ansø of Denmark has become a globally respected name in the knife industry. In 2015, he even co-founded GiantMouse Knives with Jesper Voxnaes and Jim Wirth. Few in the industry have managed to achieve that.

GiantMouse Knives has definitely been making a name for itself the last couple of years and now their knives are finally available in Europe! Blood, sweat and tears but we can finally tell you that these awesome pocket knives, designed by Jens Ansø and Jesper Voxnaes are finally here.


The modern Danish design of these two master designers have made the hearts of many knife enthusiasts skip a beat for years. After dozens of successful cooperation’s with famous brands from the knife world Ansø and Voxnaes started working with an American collector and entrepreneur. Together they founded GiantMouse Knives. Pure Danish design, made in Italy for enthusiasts worldwide.


When GiantMouse introduced its first models they were sold-out in no-time. All you had to do was blink twice and they were gone, which left the brand with a lot of disappointed customers. For that reason GiantMouse introduced the ACE-line. Comparable designs, but a part of their fixed range and not exclusively available as limited edition knives.


This, however, doesn’t mean that the GiantMouse ACE-knives are not top-quality knives. Quite the opposite. They still use Böhler M390 steel, the same material used for the limited editions. In addition, the ACE models are produced in the same Italian factory. Absolutely top-notch!

## MKM and the Normar

MKM stands for Maniago Knife Makers. MKM is a consortium representing knife-makers from around the world with their headquarters in Maniago, Italy. [MKM](kato://content/migrated_pageid_943) has a range of knife companies working under their name, from LionSteel and Viper to Fox and Mercury, and each company has its own specialty. They have therefore created a large collection, with something for everyone. MKM has slipjoints and gentleman’s knives, as well as tactical fixed knives and EDC pocket knives. All made from the best materials and finished according to the Italian standard.

Jesper Voxnaes, whom I mentioned in the intro, was the mind behind the shape and style of this beauty. For those who may not be familiar with Jesper: he is a Danish knife maker with an impressive list of clients including the excellent GiantMouse Knives, as well as Böker, Spyderco, CRKT and Helle. Jesper is probably one of the most trusted in the industry right now, and his fingerprints are all over this knife. When discussing Vox with Knivesandtools, they pointed out some style features of Vox’ previous work that is also evident in the Normar: ‘... especially the handle, [which] is very recognizable as a Vox design. Check out a GiantMouse GMF2, for instance.’
