The Böker Barlow is a classic slipjoint. A real traditional for daily tasks. These types of knives are popular amongst people who prefer carrying a larger pocket knife. Not because this knife is so big, but to carry it alongside a larger knife for the 'cleaner' tasks. Think of preparing a sandwich or peeling an apple.
This is the special Knivesandtools Exclusive edition of the Böker Barlow. Made as a limited edition knife of which only 325 were produced. Each knife is engraved with a unique number. While stocks last.
We used stunning materials for our very own Böker Barlow. The bolsters are made from nickel silver, the handle from Natural Canvas Micarta. This is a composite material made from canvas and synthetic resin. Strong and looks stunning. Micarta was invented in the early days of the twentieth century and was initially used in aeronautical engineering and in the construction of electrical installations.
The blade is made from O1 steel. A basic carbon steel. Just like the slipjoints used to be made. O1 can easily be sharpened, and is relatively tough. The great thing about O1 is that it forms a patina after use. It is namely not completely corrosion resistant. As such it will discolour through acids, salts and moisture. Please note: properly clean it after use, because O1 can rust quickly. Because of the patina each Barlow will be unique in time.
You open it with two hands and when opened a slipjoint will lock the blade. Please note: it won't completely block the blade like a backlock would!
The Böker Barlow is the perfect knife for everyone who appreciates the tradition of the real slipjoints. It is also great that you can legally carry it in many countries because you open it with two hands, and because it doesn't contain a lock. Because only a limited amount is produced it is a real collector's item. When you purchase the Böker Barlow Knivesandtools Exclusive you receive a unique Knivesandtools Exclusive sticker.
