Made in Japan

Japanese products are known for their quality, precision and refined finishes. In Seki, the Japanese knife capital with roots in the samurai sword tradition, working with steel has been a tradition for centuries. This expertise is reflected in the high-quality Japanese kitchen knives and Japanese pocket knives, which feature a distinctive design and refined finish.

Japanese products are all about precision, sharpness and reliability. This is evident in their clean grinds, hard steels and finishes with character. Brands such as Tojiro, Mcusta, Naniwa, Sakai Takayuki and Shapton demonstrate just how far that attention to detail goes. Every component feels well thought-out, from the choice of materials to the finish. Japanese makers craft products with character, balance and a clear sense of craftsmanship.

Higonokami pocket knives

The Higonokami is an iconic Japanese pocket knife that was once used by almost every schoolchild for simple tasks such as sharpening pencils and peeling fruit. This traditional knife is crafted exclusively by members of the Higonokami Guild, founded in 1899. The guild once comprised 50 blacksmiths from the Miki region, but today there is only one blacksmith left: Mr Motosuke Nagao. Alongside his work, the well-known Ohta brand also produces high-quality knives in the Higonokami style.
