These scales are made from carbon fibre. It is wonderfully lightweight and also has a sleek appearance.

Carefully heat them with a hairdryer or tap the back of the screwdriver to break the loctite. 

Also check the warranty conditions of the manufacturer: for some brands the warranty expires the moment you start working on the knife yourself. You add the scales at your own risk. We are not liable for damages that you may cause to the knife or accessory.
