Hultafors Trekking axe, Classic HB FY-0,5

I bought this axe as a household tool primarily for making kindling. Had I read a booklet about axes first, my expectations would not have included being able to whack this axe on the poll of its head. Anyway, it bites deep enough into a log to be able easily to place a wedge and drive it in with a heavy hammer – again, not using the poll of the axe for that for fear of damaging the whole thing. I had no expectation that I would be able to carve with the axe, but find I can do that as it came very sharp and is easily controlled by holding its handle near where it meets the axe head, and by being careful! I find the axe good looking and it handles well. Delivery from the Netherlands, by GLS to England, then by Parcelforce, was timely and trouble free. I would use Knives and Tools again.

Fantastic light but effective axe, great for backpacking or camp use as it’s light enough to have in a rucksack without noticing the weight. Also as a carving tool it is extremely effective just as good effective as using a knife only negitive opinion towards this axe at all is the belt loop on the axe mask is too small to fit most belts, could be solved buy using a carabiner or something. overall though it is a fantastic bit of kit and I would reccomend Anyone own one. Knives and tools themselves are a fantastic seller every time I’ve purchased something the post always comes quick and is in impeccable condition.
