This Le Creuset mini cocotte set is a nice addition for in your kitchen. In these four cute little cherry-red pans you can serve the most delicious soups, small casseroles, sauces or creme brulee. The cocottes have a 10 cm diameter, a content of 0.25 litre and are made from ceramics. As such they are not suited for use on a cooking hob, but can handle the oven (max. 260 degrees C), microwave or under the grill.
However, these cocottes are not only great for warm dishes. You can also easily prepare cold dishes in these small pans. Place the cocottes in the freezer before use (up to max -18 degrees C) and serve a wonderfully cool dish. From the freezer straight in the oven is also an option. For the best preparation you place the pans in a cold oven. As such the oven and the dish will heat up simultaneously, for the best result.
Cleaning the mini cocottes
Clean the cocottes before use with some soap and dry them properly. If you are done cooking allow the pans to cool before you place them under the tap. This could namely damage the pans: the ceramics could break. You can also clean these cocottes by hand, or put them in the dishwasher. Do, however, keep in mind that if you put them in the dishwasher the glossy finish can start to fade in time.
History of Le Creuset pans
The basis for the success of the Le Creuset pans started in 1924 at the fair in Brussels. Iron smith Armand Desaegher and Octave Aubecq, the founder of Les Émailleries, joined forces and decided to start a company together. It turned out to be an amazing decision. Ever since 1925 they have been conquering the world with the enamel Le Creuset pans.
Throughout the years Le Creuset has continued to innovate. Time and time again one returned to the drawing board for new designs, models and colours. This urge to innovate is the reason that today, over 90 years later, these iconic pans are still the best in the world. Unparalleled production quality and leading designs and colours have turned Le Creuset into an icon.
