**LifeStraw carbon** filters filter chlorine, flavour and pesticides out of the water. A carbon filter is effective for around 100 liters, replace it after. These filters are suitable for all LifeStraw 2-stage water filters.

 ## What does this LifeStraw filter

 
 * Chlorine: this chemical irritates your lungs, eyes and skin. In a very low dose it can also be used to disinfect water. This filter removes chlorine from the water, the longer the carbon filter has the chance to filter the water, the more chlorine is filtered from the water.
 * Smell and taste: although not always harmful to you, when water has a strange taste, you do not drink it with a comfortable feeling. It's a good thing the carbon filter reduces this.
 * Pesticides and herbicides: These are chemical pesticides used in food production. These end up in water through rainfall, among other things. Although often not directly harmful, prolonged exposure can be harmful.

We gebruiken de filters in onze lifestraw go flessen. Over de fles zelf ben ik niet te vreden omdat deze na 4 weken begon te lekken en onbruikbaar is geworden, maar de filters werken fantastisch. We reizen door zuid amerika en vullen onze flessen uit elke kraan die we vinden, rivier of meren. De smaak van het water is zoals je verwacht uit een nederlandse kraan. Na 2 maanden begonnen we te merken dat het water wat rare smaak had, na wisselen van het koolstof filter wad hier niks meer van te merken. Na een grove berekening van aantal liters komen we op ongeveer 150 liter voor we hebben moeten wisselen.

Heb deze net aangeschaft m'n dochter voor een trektocht van drie maanden door zuid-Amerika.
De lifestraw bidon lijkt een perfecte oplossing voor zowel dagelijks gebruik als real survival.
Ik ga zeker een review schrijven als ze gezond weer terug is
