The **LifeStraw Go 2-stage water bottle with filter** is a very practical bottle. You can use the carabiner to hang the bottle from your backpack or belt loop so you can always keep it handy. The best thing about this bottle is its simplicity. You can fill the bottle with dirty water and simply drink straight from the mouthpiece. The dirt stays behind in the filter and only clean water comes out of the mouthpiece. 

As well as the first filter, the LifeStraw Go 2-stage also has a second filter. This is a carbon filter that reduces chlorine, pesticides and aftertaste. The carbon filter is effective for approximately 100 litres, and then you'll need to replace it. 

## What does this LifeStraw filter?

  * Bacteria: 99.9999% (LOG 6 reduction). This LifeStraw filters E. coli and other bacteria from water.

  * Protozoa: 99.9% (LOG 3 reduction). Protozoa is a collective term for single-celled parasites. Frequently occurring protozoa that LifeStraw successfully filters from the water are Giardia and Cryptosporidium. 

  * Viruses: unfortunately this filter does not remove viruses from the water. 

  * Microplastics: this LifeStraw filters 99.9999% of microplastics out of the water. 

  * Chlorine: this chemical irritates your eyes and skin and can impair your breathing. In very low doses, it is also used to disinfect water. This filter removes chlorine from the water, and the longer the carbon filter is given the chance to filter the water, the more chlorine is removed from the water.

  * Smell and flavour: even though it might not be harmful to you, if water has a funny taste you probably won't enjoy drinking it. Fortunately, the carbon filter will reduce these bad tastes. 

  * Pesticides and herbicides: these are chemicals used in food production. They end up in water as the result of rainfall. Even though they might not immediately cause you harm, long-term exposure could be harmful. 

## Cleaning the water filter

If the primary filter is saturated with dirt, you won't be able to drink from it. Blow air into the filter via the mouthpiece to blow the dirt out of the filter. If you're no longer able to remove the dirt in this way, you need to replace the filter.
