With the FireSteel Scout it's easy and quick to make fire. If you stroke a metal strip or a knife over the magnesium swab, a shower of sparks of 3000 degrees Celsius will set some wood powder or cotton aflame. Of course you can also quickly ignite a gas burner or barbecue with the FireSteel Scout. And unlike matches or a lighter, they are not at all impressed or bothered by water.  
   


This lighter execution can be used about 3,000 times. The scraper is equipped with an emergency whistle.  
   


This version has handles made of red plastic. If you drop it, it's easy to find back.

Een prima fire steel. Maakt gewoon goede vonken met de achterkant van een mes met een 90 graden achterkant werkt hij het best. Zelf gebruik ik daarvoor een hulataforce ok4. 

Als het mij zelfs lukt om hiermee een vuurtje te starten, dan kan iedereen het :-) Het fluitje op het schrapertje vind ik 'flut'. Je kunt er met enige moeite een geluid uitkrijgen, maar laat het fluitje niet de doorslag geven voor je keuze voor één van de modellen. Ik draag een zakmesje aan mijn sleutelbos en dan de firesteel zelf. Het schrapertje laat ik achterwege, want je kunt gewoon met één van de mesjes schrapen. Dat werkt net zo goed. De firesteel is ietwat langer dan mijn sleutels en ongeveer net zo zwaar als een sleutel. 
Ik kreeg de firesteel snel en in goede orde opgestuurd.
De winkel en de firesteel zijn aan te raden!

Leuk! Heb hem voor mijn zoon gekocht van 9,is nog wel wat hulp bij nodig,maar hij werkt prima! 

Altijd -in alle omstandigheden- een vonk en dan een vlam wanneer je dat nodig hebt. Ergonomische greepjes die ok met handschoenen om mijn grote handen goed houvast bieden. Onmisbaar onderdeel in een "kitje" voor buiten.
Als je er een beetje handig mee bent, is het ook een perfect ding om een BBQ buiten mee aan te steken.
