The **Edge Pro sharpening stone 600 grit** is used in combination with an Edge Pro sharpening system. This 600 grit sharpening stone is finer than other 600 grit sharpening stones. So you get a surprisingly sharp result when you sharpen with this stone! For very blunt knives, we recommend using a coarser sharpening stone. 

## Grit size of Edge Pro sharpening stones 
The sharpening stones in the Edge Pro Sharpening system seem coarse when compared to Japanese sharpening stones. This is because various scales are used for the grit size of sharpening stones. An Edge Pro F400 grit is comparable to a J700 Japanese sharpening stone. The Edge Pro stones are finer than you might initially think. Here is an overview of the information we have gathered so far:

I almost achieve a mirror finish on ZDP-189 steel. In my estimation, this stone is at least 1000 grit compared to Japanese stones.

No complaints about the stone. I'm just miffed that I ordered from a UK website which promised next day dispatch only to find it was coming from Europe which was obviously going to take far longer to arrive...

I bought a cheaper system than the Edge Pro and found that it's cheap because of the low quality of the stones. The Edge Pro stones, on the other hand, are excellent quality. These are the ones to get.
