The EZE-LAP Diamond Hone & Stone LPAK is a set of three diamond-coated files. This set contains files with grain sizes medium (400 grit), fine (600 grit), and super fine (1200 grit). The files are easy when sharpening in difficult to reach places. Think of sharpening chisels, scissors and saw blades. Because the files are light-weight and compact you can easily take them with you. The files come in a yellow storage case.


To make the distinction between grain sizes easier to spot, the files are enhanced with differently coloured handles. This colour corresponds with the grain size of the sharpening surface. For the medium 400 grit this is purple, for the fine 600 grit this is red, and for the super-fine 1200 grit this is blue.


## How to use the files


The diamond-coated files from EZE-LAP can be used wet and dry. The advantage of sharpening with water is that the stone is lubricated and the sharpening residue is removed. With wet sharpening only use water never oil. If you only use the sharpening stone for dry sharpening we recommend that you regularly clean the surface. This is how you remove sharpening residue from previous use(s) and make sure the file stays in great shape.


We recommend using the files with care. You will notice that the diamonds will quickly do what they are supposed to do and that you only need little pressure to end up with the best results.


## Grain size EZE-LAP


EZE-LAP produces diamond-coated sharpening products with five different grain sizes. These grain sizes are also associated with a colour, so you can quickly see which grit size you are using. In a nutshell:




* Extra coarse: green, 150 grit.
For fast sharpening and re-shaping a very blunt or damaged edge.

* Coarse: black, 250 grit.
To quickly sharpen and re-shape a blunt or damaged edge.

* Medium: purple, 400 grit.
To quickly sharpen, re-shape and finish a blunt edge.

* Fine: red, 600 grit.
Suitable for almost all sharpening jobs. It sharpens blunt edges in the foreseeable future and ensures a sharp finish.

* Super fine: blue, 1200 grit.
For a razor-sharp and polished edge with a very fine finish.

Works as advertised, although the fit and finish reminds me of a cheap knock-offs than a product proudly made in USA.

Zeer fijn voor onderweg je gereedschap bij te houden (bouwvakker hier). Wel even inslijpen maar dat is bekend. En GEEN druk zetten. Laat de vijl het werk doen. Weer een fijn product van mijn favoriete zaak.

Quite handy for sharpening Forstner bits, pocket knives and the occasional router bit. Handy for toning up "stanley" knife blades.

Vielseitiges und langlebiges Produkt. Die Schleifplättchen eignen sich zum Schleifen von den meisten Messern, Hobeln und Scheren. Fast alles, was nicht zu stark konkarv gebogen ist, oder einen Wellenschliff hat.Mit dem Set-Preis war ich auch zufrieden. Andere Diamantplatten kosten einfach zu viel und wenn sie partiell abgenutzt sind, müsste wieder eine neue Platte her. Außerdem lässt sich damit kein Hobel nachschleifen, der noch montiert ist.
