The **Fällkniven S1x** is a top-quality outdoor knife, perfect for many different users. Bushcraft and survival enthusiasts, hunters and other outdoor enthusiasts have known for years that Fällkniven produces amazing knives This S1x is a full-tang version of their Fällkniven S1.



The Fällkniven S1x is also called the 'Forest Knife'. It was originally designed as a knife for outdoor enthusiasts who spend a lot of time in the woods. Its blade length is slightly bigger than the F1x, but not as massive as the A1x. And yet it is still quite heavy for light pruning tasks.



The Fällkniven X collection is the first of this Swedish brand with a *full-tang* construction. This means that the tang of the blade runs throughout the entire handle. This is stronger dan other construction methods. The scales are mounted to both sides of the tang. These are still made from Thermorun. This is an elastic plastic that absorbs blows and offers a lot of grip. These scales even offer more grip than the handle of the normal S1.



The blade is made from laminated CoS steel.
This means that the CoS core is placed in between two layers of softer, more stainless steel. As such the blade can handle a lot more. You can easily sharpen the CoS core and it will retain its sharpness for a long time.



## Fällkniven’s convex grind


Like all fixed Fällkniven knives this knife was enhanced with a convex grind. This has important advantages. A convex edge, for instance, can be sharpened razor-sharp, is relatively stong and offers less cutting resistance. The 'shoulders' that are usually attached to a regular v-edge in the transition from the edge to the side of the blade, are missing. As such using a convex edge is absolutely amazing. The Fällkniven S1x comes with a Zytel sheath. Fällkniven upgraded this as well by adding an additional retention lever. With it you can secure the knife in the sheath. As such it won't rattle, and you won't lose it. A nice upgrade!

Wie immer eine schnelle Lieferung und über die Qualität von Fällkniven muss man nichts sagen

Mijn eerste Fälkniven, hiervoor vnml Bark River en Lionsteel messen gehad. Wat dit mes fantastisch kan is hout klieven. Ook kan je er feathersticks mee maken maar daar blinkt deze niet in uit. Na het batoneren van flink wat hard eiken hout was de snede nog scheermes scherp, blij verrast met hoe goed de CoS convex edge zich houd. Ik had al in reviews gezien dat het handvat niet erg comfortabel is en dat kan ik beamen. Ik heb zelf micarta scales gemaakt. 

Prachtig stuk staal, vlijmscherp en ligt erg goed in mijn hand. Mes meegenomen bij laatste kampeertocht en alle taken die voorkomen met zeer goede resultaat vervuld. Doet zijn naam, Forest Knife, absoluut waarmaken en in eer houden. Persoonlijk ook een grote fan van convex geslepen mes, vind deze makkelijk met een diamantslijpertje en strop scherp te houden. Ben geen fan Zytel materiaal schede houders en laat voor al mijn messen een leren foedraal fabriceren naar eigen wens. Al met al zeer tevreden en mes is gedoopt tot vaste side kick en de andere messen zijn gedwongen nu met pensioen.
