The Benchmade Mini SOCP 173BK is a compact knife for tactical purposes, designed by Greg Thompson. The Mini SOCP is a smaller improved version of its big brother. The blade is a couple cm shorter and the sheath was improved. All to make sure the Mini SOCP is even easier to carry underneath your clothes.
As mentioned before Benchmade improved the sheath. They did so in cooperation with first-responders based on their feedback. The clip, which is mounted on the sheath, is an example of this. It works even better in combination with MOLLE webbing. The resilience of the pocket clip is also a lot better to make sure the sheath won't come loose when you take the knife out.
You can easily take the Benchmade Mini SOCP from your sheath by putting your index finger through the hole and taking the knife from the sheath. Your three other fingers fall automatically in the finger grooves. You can comfortably place your thumb on the ridges on top of the finger hole. Gerber used 440HC steel for the blade. A good type of steel, but not completely stainless. Benchmade solved this problem by covering the knife with a cool, black coating.
