The Böker Arbolito Esculta Micarta 02BA593M is a large bowie outdoor knife. It is the 'baby' brother of the Gigante, even though it is still quite large with its 16.5 cm blade. You use the Böker Esculta for all-round outdoor tasks, but also for hunting.
The blade of the Böker Arbolito Esculta is made from Böhler N695 steel. This is the Austrian version of the stainless 440C steel. Tough and easy to sharpen, and it retains its sharpness well. The knife has been enhanced with a polished stonewashed finish.
The handle is made from micarta. A composite material made from linen and synthetic resin. Feels great in hand and offers enough grip. You even have enough grip if your hands are wet. The great aspect of the Esculta is that the tang of the blade, the part of the steel that moves from the blade throughout the handle is thinner. It is thick at the front of the handle and thin at the end. This doesn't only look, it also helps with the balance.
To prevent your hand from slipping en ending up on the edge, the knife was enhanced with a large steel knife guard. The Böker Arbolito Esculta comes with a nice leather belt sheath. It is enhanced with two belt loops. A dangler loop to make sure you have more room to move, and a tight belt loop to make sure you can carry the sheath close to your belt.
