Dit mes is compact, dus  handig om elke dag bij je te hebben. Het voldoet bijna volledig aan mijn verwachtingen, ik had hem alleen wat groter verwacht, wat uiteindelijk niet zo erg is, omdat hij nu makkelijk is om bij je te hebben. Wat ik wel merk is dat Cold Steel messen heel degelijk zijn, want andere messen die ik heb gehad, gingen snel kapot, door de mindere kwaliteit.
Ik raad dit mes dus ten zeerste aan.

Heel mooi mes. daarom gekocht. Zeer puntig en scherp.

Het mes is vooral naar een bepaald design toe ontworpen ("laarsdolk"), en dat is ook goed gelukt. Het ging, m.i., wel ten koste van enkele praktische kanten van het mes:
De greep is vrij dik (om de ronde vorm te kunnen bekomen) en de duimsteun zit dicht bij de greep (in gesloten toestand), Daardoor is het mes wat moeilijker te openen met duim alleen.
Zeker in het begin ging het mes wat stroef open. Dat lijkt na veel keren openen en sluiten wat te beteren. Ik zou het, in vergelijking met andere messen, toch nog steeds als een stroef mes bestempelen...
Het lemmet lijkt wat klein t.o.v. de greep, maar de vorm van de greep beschermt de hand tegen doorschuiven. Het is nu net omdat het mes bij het openen rond die uitstulpingen moet draaien dat er extra milimeters greep nodig was.
Ik denk eigenlijk dat je voor elk van de voor- of nadelen (buiten de algemene stroefheid) direct kunt zien dat het komt door een compromis bij het design. Dit levert een mes op met karakter. I like it.
