The CRKT Provoke 4040 is a revolutionary karambit pocket knife, designed by Joe Caswell. With the Provoke Caswell changed the way we think about pocket knives. The Kinematic mechanism ensures that the karambit opens quickly. When looking at a photo it is hard to imagine how it works which is why we recommend you check out the product video that comes with the photographs!
With your index finger through the ring you push the blade into place with your thumb. When opened the blade is kept in place by a solid lock. Because you also lock your hand around the handle you will make sure the knife stays open. With a somewhat hidden latch you can easily unlock the blade as well. It might take some getting used to at first, but when you are used to the Provoke it will be a piece of cake.
Aside from the interesting mechanism the Provoke is simply a great pocket knife. The blade is made from D2-steel and sharpened on one side. Nice and thin behind the edge so it cuts really well. The handle is made from solid 6061 T6-aluminium. A solid type of material that is often used in the aerospace industry.
You can discretely carry the CRKT Provoke in your pocket. The pocket clip is distinctive because you push it down on one side to make sure the end will stand up. As such you can easily slide it in your pocket without it ever getting in the way.
