With this **Flint Spanmesser Wood splitter** you can easily produce kindling for your campfire or fireplace. Because of the lever effect this is almost effortless. The Flint Spanmesser is made from cast iron, and will therefore last a lifetime! 

## This is how you use the Flint Spanmesser

Place a log of wood on one of the lower teeth and put the knife on the top of the log. Hold the side of the log with one hand. By applying a little bit of pressure you can easily split kindling from the block. As the knife goes deeper into the wood, you can set the block higher and higher on the teeth, until the piece of kindling is completely off the block. The maximum length of a log of wood is approx. 33 cm. Shorter pieces are not a problem, of course. High-fibre pieces of wood, such as spruce, pine, birch or ash as best suited for splitting. Tip: if you have a new load of wood, look for logs without knots and put them to the side. As such you always have the right wood to produce kindling.

## Assembly

The Flint Spanmesser is meant to be hung up. The wall you will hang it from needs to be made from a strong material. A concrete wall or wooden beams are great. Don't hang it too high, because it is never nice to work beyond your capacity. The Flint Spanmesser comes with four screws, four plastic plugs, a drilling template and instructions.
