Full description
The Shallot Black is a slim pocket knife which Ken Onion has designed for Kershaw. The curves in the knife show the influence of this famous knife designer. Because of the sleek lines, the knife seems smaller than the actual length. The relatively thin blade is suitable for both cutting and piercing objects. Both knife and handle have a black coating. This scratch-resistant DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating gives the knife a tactical look and protects the steel.

The knife arrived in excellent condition and was razor sharp. It is duracle and well constructed. The opening and locking mechanisms are excellent. The only fault I could find is the position of the pocket clip which causes about 2cm of the knife to protrude above the top of the pocket. I prefer to carry a penknife more discreetly e.g. the Sog Flash 2 appears more like a biro in one's pocket.
