**Knivesandtools 550 paracord type III** made in USA is the pefect material to make a lanyard or wrist band. Originally designed for paratroopers in the American army, but today it is an indispensable tool for outdoor enthusiasts. It is incredibly practical for outdoor activities.

 ## Knivesandtools 550 paracord type III: Unique and rock-solid rope

 The number 550 stands for the tractive force of 500 pounds (approximately 250 kg). The outer casing contains a core that contains seven core strands. If the paracord is too thick and the maximum tractive force not necessary, it is possible to remove this core. The thin strands from the core are said to also be used as suture material in case of an emergency. We haven't tested this theory yet!

## Paraglow: clearly visible or nice-to-have?


What does ‘paraglow’ mean? How much light does it produce? We went out and tested it ourselves. The paracord lights up if you point a flashlight on it, but this effect does fade quite quickly. You can also ‘charge’ the paracord with daylight, but it doesn’t catch as much light as real glow in the dark paracord. As such we can only conclude that it is more a nice-to-have than must-have feature. Great when you use black light or UV light in the dark. Think of black light sports tournaments or blacklight parties.
