Full description
The Laguiole en Aubrac Couteau d'ici L0511 is a simple farmer's pocket knife. This type of knife is also called a friction folder. You open it with one hand with the front flipper, but a real lock is missing. You can, however, use the front flipper to keep it properly closed.
The remarkable aspect of this pocket knife is that Laguiole en Aubrac chose a type of carbon steel for the blade. As such it is really easy to sharpen. In the past it was the only way to produce knives. So a subtle nod to the classic design of this pocket knife. You do, however, have to be careful around rust with carbon steel. You will quickly notice discolouration when it comes in contact with moisture, salt or acids. Simply clean it in time and occasionally add a couple drops of oil. After a while the steel will form its own patina making each knife unique.
This Laguiole en Aubrac Couteau d'ici is enhanced with a handle made from stunning ebony wood.
