The Naniwa Professional sharpening stone grain 600 is a sharpening stone that will help you sharpen knives that have lost their sharpness. Grain 600 is coarse enough to quickly remove material and restore the edge of a blunt knife, but not coarse enough to restore a damaged edge. For it you need a coarser sharpening stone.

This stone gives you excellent feedback, it is fast, and it is essential as a first stone for sharpening any heavily blunted knife. It is also very durable. It serves as a great starting whetstone before going to a 1000-2000 grit range. I simply love when a knife "calls for this stone". :)
