This sharpening stone uses resin to bind the abrasives, in this case white aluminium oxide.  

It does not soak up water and therefore does not require frequent wetting. Super Stones wear slowly and maintain a constant sharpening effect.  

  
  


Splash with water before and during sharpening, do not soak or store in water.  
  

**About grit sizes**  

Whetstones come in various grit sizes. The higher the number, the finer the grit. A finer grit results in a sharper knife. Sharpening a really dull knife on a fine grit will take much time, so you will need to treat it on a coarser grit first.  
  



* 120 - 600: Appropriate when real dull knives need to be brought back in the right shape

* 800 - 1,000: Appropriate to sharpen knives that were already in a reasonable state

* 2,000 - 3,000: For a result sharper than most knives are when they leave the factory

* 5,000 - 12,000: To polish the knife and get a razor sharp edge

Grundsätzlich bin ich mit der Serie von Naniwa Chosera-Schleifsteinen zufrieden, kann aber bei diesem Abziehstein nicht bestätigen, dass die Klinge nicht in den Stein einschneidet beim Abziehen - im Gegenteil. Es ist mir mehrfach passiert. Jetzt komme mir keiner und sage, dass der Anstellwinkel der Schneide beim Abziehvorgang eben zu groß war. Sicher mag das sein, aber darum geht es auch gar nicht! Es geht um die allgemeine Produkt-Aussage, dass es ein sehr harter Schleifstein ist (was m.E. gar nicht stimmt) und Klingen nicht schnell einschneiden können, und das passiert hier eben doch sehr schnell, auch wenn die Klinge nur eine Nuance zu steil steht. 

Zeer snelle levering,de supersteen is de finishing touch.
Mijn messen worden scheermes scherp,je moet er wel rekening mee houden dat de steen wel zacht is,je snijdt er makkelijk een hapje uit als je even niet oplet.De steen is een goede aanvulling op mijn andere chosera stenen die ik ook bij knivesandtools besteld heb.

Super snelle levering ik ben een 100% tevreden klant. Ik houd niet van onzin recht op het doel(.) Ga zo door.
