The Rick Hinderer FXM 3.5” is a solid fixed knife. When you look at the shape of this knife, you'll see that it strongly resembles a Hinderer from the XM series. The name FXM actually means Fixed XM. A top design by master designer Rick Hinderer.
The Wharncliffe blade is made from CPM S35VN steel. This is a powder steel, which means it has a very fine structure. The Wharncliffe shape is characterised by a perfectly straight edge. It's really easy to sharpen, and the thin tip is ideal for precise tasks. The blade has a stunning finish. There are shiny, irregular highlights in the stonewashed finish. These help to mask any traces of use. Plus, they look really cool!
The handle is made from G10. This feather-light material is very strong, and its milled texture provides plenty of grip. The jimping (grip knurls) for the thumb are applied over a wide area. This means you'll always have a good grip, no matter how you hold it. There is also an extra row of jimping on the back of the handle. It's exactly where you need it when holding the knife with the blade at the bottom of the fist. Also known as a reversed grip.
You can carry the Hinderer XFM in the supplied Kydex sheath. This sheath has a Tek-Lok belt clip, which allows you to attach it in many different ways.
The Rick Hinderer philosophy is: a knife is a tool that should work for you, never the other way around. That's why Hinderer knives are made to be used. This FXM is a perfect example of this.
