The SOG Trident Elite TF101 is a practical, tactical pocket knife. The knife has SOG's patented assisted opening mechanism, so it opens ultra smoothly. The handle is made of fibre-reinforced nylon (FRN) and is therefore both lightweight and extremely strong. The Japanese AUS8 stainless steel blade has a thin grind and is razor-sharp. There is a practical seatbelt cutter in the handle. You can use this for tasks like cutting a seatbelt, paracord or fishing line, without having to open the knife. There is also a glass breaker on the top of the handle. The SOG letters incorporated into the pocket clip are a nice detail. This clip can be attached on either the left or the right.
SOG Trident Elite TF101: two locks
When opened, the blade is locked in place by the piston lock. This is a lock that is strongly reminiscent of the Axis lock, but only accessible from the left side (the thumb side for right-handed users). An extra lock ensures that the blade can't be opened unintentionally from its closed position. When this lock turns red, the knife is ready to go!
