The Spyderco Province FB45GP is a large bowie knife, designed by metallurgy expert Jim Ankerson and knife maker Darrin Sanders. Without a doubt the Province is a very imposing knife. Once you hold this bowie knife in hand it is hard not to smile.
Years of experience have taught Darrin Sanders what the best blade shapes are for various tasks. The blade of the Spyderco Province is a great example. The shape of this blade is great for many purposes. Chopping, hunting, precise tasks and most piercing tasks are no problem at all. This is mostly because it is made from CPM 4V-steel. A remarkable type of steel you don't see that often in Spyderco's range. CPM 4V steel is very tough and wear and tear resistant. In short: the perfect type of steel for heavy-duty use.
The G10 handle is nicely polished and shines in the sun. Because Spyderco made the handle a little thicker in the middle you have enough grip over the knife. This thick part fills the palm your hand and ensures that the knife won't easily slip from your hand during use.
The Spyderco Province comes with a tight leather sheath to make sure you can carry it vertically from your belt.
