The Spyderco Sustain is a large fixed knife designed by Stuart Ackerman. The shape of the blade with the large swedge (false section of a knife’s spine) is very impressive. Especially in relation to the total length of over 29 cm. Still, this giant only weighs 205 grams.
For this blade Spyderco chose CPM 20CV steel. One of the most popular types of stainless-steel at the moment. This blade remains sharp, and is corrosion resistant. Because of the (extremely!) thin grinding of the knife the Sustain is great to use. A true slicer. The handle is made of G10. In comparison to what you might expect from G10 the handle on the Sustain has a perfectly smooth finish, while it still offers you enough grip. The overall finish of the Spyderco Sustain is exceptional. Exactly what you would expect from Spyderco’s Taichung factory.
You carry your Spyderco Sustain in the included leather pouch. The belt loop offers room for belts up to 6,5 cm.
