The **Wüstof Easy Edge electric knife sharpener, 4341** is a good electric knife sharpener for kitchen knives. With this sharpener you can quickly sharpen your knives. Perfect for any chef who cannot wait to get started! The machine is easy to use and hardly stands out in between your other kitchen appliances. It is so quick and easy to use that you actually no longer have a reason to use blunt knives.

 The sharpening machine works with three different speeds:

 * **Shape:** Because of the speed the belt will quickly remove material. Perfect when restoring a blunt knife or even a damaged edge.
* **Sharpen:** with the medium speed you can quickly sharpen your knife, but in a controlled manner. This mode is perfect for blunt knives.
* **Refine:** because of the low speed the sharpening belt won't remove as much material any more. This mode works best with the ultra-fine sharpening belt. Perfect to make your sharp knife even sharpen or to keep your knives sharp!

 ### The sharpening angle

 To maintain the sharpening angle the machine is enhanced with two slots that guide the knife under a fixed 17 degree angle alongside the belt. That 17 degree angle is the perfect average angle for kitchen knives. A great balance between a sharp and a strong edge. The machine has one slot to sharpen the left side of the edge and one slot to sharpen the right side of the edge. You push the knife against the guide to maintain the angle. To prevent scratches on the knife the guide is enhanced with a soft liner.  ### Can you only sharpen kitchen knives with the Wüsthof Easy Edge?

 Yes and no. No, you can also sharpen pocket knives and outdoor knives with the Wüsthof Easy Edge, but not all knives. It, for instance, has some difficulty with thicker knives (knives thicker than 5 mm don't fit in between the guides) and with not all pocket knives you can reach the entire edge.

 ### Sharpening belts

 The Wüsthof Easy Edge comes with four sharpening belts (one installed and three in the storage compartment). Two medium sharpening belts, one fine and one ultra-fine sharpening belt. These belts will wear out in time. That is why Wüsthof also sells [replacement belts](/en/pt/-wusthof-easy-edge-replacement-sharpening-belt-set-7918-1.htm). You can easily change those. Simply pull the front of the machine towards you. It is kept in place with a magnet. Afterwards you push the upper wheel down and remove the belt. Now you can lift the upper wheel to find a compartment with enough room for the replacement belts. Placing a new belt is the same as removing one, but the other way around.
