The **Spyderco Sharpmaker** is a practical sharpening system when sharpening and maintaining your knives. The device is mostly suited for knives that are still in great shape. For very blunt knives we recommend [coarser sharpening steels](/en/pt/-spyderco-204cbn-cubic-boron-nitride-sharpening-rods.htm).

The Spyderco Sharpmaker uses top-quality ceramic rods that are very close to the hardness of diamond, to make sure that even the hardest types of steel are no problem at all. The Sharpmaker is recommended by several leading knife makers such as Buck and Chris Reeve, as well as many enthusiastic users (including ourselves!). The Sharpmaker is truly a product of which you know for sure it will always work.

This sharpening system comes with a total of four ceramic sharpening rods with a triangular cross-section, two grey Medium rods and two white Fine rods.

These rods can be inserted into the plastic base in different ways, so that the device itself takes care of the correct angle during the grinding process. All you have to do is vertically move the knife alongside the sharpening rods to make sure the entire edge comes in contact with it. That's all it is. It almost seems *too*good to be true, but it is not! The results are always the same: the knives will be razor-sharp in only a short amount of time.

This also applies to scissors, chisels and razors; the Sharpmaker knows what to do with these too. Because of the versatility of the sharpening rods you can (after some practice) also use them separately to carry out more difficult sharpening tasks.

The Sharpmaker comes with a clear manual with photos, as well as an instructional DVD on which inventor Sal Glesser clearly explains how the sharpening system works. The playing time of this DVD is approximately 20 minutes.

J'ai mis beaucoup d'argent dans des systèmes d'affutages et c'est le seul dont je sois vraiment satisfait pour affuter des émoutures plates. Les tiges céramiques sont durables, il faut juste penser à les nettoyer de temps en temps pour exploiter leurs potentiels. Il s'agit d'un produit pour entretenir le tranchant pour un couteau émoussé il faut utiliser les tiges diamants

Na 1e keer proberen direct een mooi resultaat. Ik ben nu helemaal klaar met stenen. Dit is m voortaan. Snel geleverd! 

Ik heb de Spyderco nu twee keer gebruikt, dus ik kan niks zeggen over de duurzaamheid, maar ik had twee keer vlijmscherpe messen. Het product doet dus zeker wat het moet doen; ik ben zeer tevreden!
