Did you receive our gift card? You can use it by filling out the code during the final step of the ordering process (payment and shipping options).

* The gift card is a payment method, is used as money in the shopping cart and cannot be exchanged for cash
* The gift card can be used for multiple orders (if the order amount is smaller than the amount on the gift card)

* A lost, stolen or used gift card cannot be sent again

These terms and conditions apply to all knivesandtools gift cards, which are sold by KATO Group BV. When you use a gift card you automatically agree to these terms and conditions:

Gift cards are not the same as coupon codes and other discount codes the KATO Group BV gives out. Gift cards have a unique combination of numbers, letters or both. These gift cards are exclusively created and sold by KATO Group BV via its websites.

The recipient gets the actual code once. A lost, stolen or used gift card cannot be sent again because it is unique. There will be no refund or new code provided. 

KATO Group BV has the right to fully accept the code once they have received it in physical form. When a code is used falsely, KATO Group can demand an actual payment for the goods. 

A gift card can be redeemed as a payment method in the shopping cart. This is at the end of the ordering process. One order can have multiple gift cards. 

The gift card can only be used in a KATO Group BV web shop.

Gift cards cannot be used for orders that have already been placed or outstanding amounts. The gift card cannot be redeemed for cash. 

When the amount on the gift card is higher than the order amount, the remaining sum will stay on the gift card. When the order amount is higher the extra amount can be paid after redeeming the gift card.

### The Chris Reeve Mnandi: the blade 

The blade is made from CPM S45VN steel, an American steel that made its debut in the Mnandi in 2021. Compared to S35VN, S45VN is slightly better when it comes to sharpness retention, and it is also easier to sharpen. 

 

With a little practice, the Mnandi can be opened one-handed with the help of the cut-out in the blade. At first, though, it's probably best to open the knife with two hands. When opened, the blade is locked in place by a frame lock. Even though this small folding knife may look a little austere, the quality of the materials used, and the finish are absolutely exceptional. 

 

### The Chris Reeve Mnandi: the handle

Ardennes Coticule uses all the residual products that are released when the stones are mined. 1 ton of slate is required to produce 1 kilo usable whetstone. In short, with a Coticule or a Belgian blue whetstone you have an exclusive natural sharpening product in your hands.


## Coticule and Belgian Blue Whetstone (BBW)


Both products sharpen your knives razor-sharp. The Coticule is a yellow stone supplied on a (unusable) slate. BBW contains fewer grenades than the Coticule and they are larger. The stone is harder and sharpens slower than the Coticule. The sharpening result obtained with both stones is almost identical. Because they are natural products each stone is unique.


Ardennes Coticule has a slate quarry with unique sediments that occur nowhere else in the world. The sediments are rocks formed over 480 million years from grey-yellow volcanic ashes and clay that contain hard grenades. Parts of the mined slate have been used as whetstones for years. The part that cannot be used for whetstones is used for the production of gres tubes and bricks as much as possible.
