How to choose the best oil

The choice of oil depends on the type of tool and its use. For pocket knives used daily, a light oil such as Nano-Oil 5w or 10w is ideal. For heavier applications or tools with larger moving parts, a thicker oil such as Nano-Oil 85w is suitable. Ballistol is a good all-rounder that is suitable for various materials and applications. Also consider the environment in which you use the tool; some oils offer extra protection against moisture and corrosion.

Nano-Oil is a lubricant that utilises nanotechnology. The microscopic particles in the oil act as ball bearings, ensuring that moving parts continue to operate smoothly. Nano-Oil is available in various viscosities, such as 5w, 10w and 85w, depending on the application. It does not dry out or attract dust, making it ideal for pocket knives and multi-tools that are used daily. A single drop is often sufficient for long-lasting lubrication.

Maintenance tips for long-lasting performance

  • Clean regularly. Remove dirt and old oil before applying new oil.

  • Only use a little amount. A small amount of oil is often sufficient; excessive use can attract dirt.
