The Benchmade Sibert Arvensis is a fixed knife designed by Shane Sibert. The same designer also designed the Benchmade Adamas. The goal was to design a well-balanced, light-weight, heavy-duty knife. He was very successful.
The clippoint blade is made from 154CM stainless steel and runs throughout the knife. This type of steel is corrosion resistant and tough. A great type of steel for a solid fixed knife. The slightly matt finish on the blade ensures that the blade is not reflective. The spine of the blade is flattened and perfect for batoning. You could, however, also use the edge as a scraper for your firesteel.
The G10 scales seamlessly fit with the steel and feel amazing in hand. The handle is enhanced with three lanyard eyes that are solidified with a titanium tube. You can use it to turn your knife into a spear, or to attach a wrist strap to make sure you can properly hold your knife during batoning.
The innovative aspect of this knife is the way you can attach the Boltaron sheath. You can attach it in almost any way. The advantage of Bolatron is that this sheath, when exposed to higher temperatures, will become as soft as Kydex. If a sheath becomes soft it can occur it won't hold the knife as it should. So if you are planning to go out in the desert and leave your knife on the dashboard in the burning sun... That is when the Boltaron sheath will retain its shape.
Are you looking for a solid knife you can use in the wilderness? If so the Sibert Arvensis is the perfect knife for you!
