The **Benchmade Bailout 537GY** is a super light-weight and solid pocket knife. The 537 Bailout is a larger version of the famous Benchmade Bugout. One of the best EDC knives ever produced, designed for hikers who pay attention to every gram. Considering the popularity of the Bugout Benchmade also used this light-weight construction for the Bailout. As such the Bailout has many of the design elements you can also find on the Bugout. Like the handle which is made from grivory. A light-weight type of plastic that is remarkably strong for its weight. The Bailout is also enhanced with the same diamond-pattern on the handle and, of course, the famous axis-lock lockings mechanism.

 The 537 Bailout is a part of Benchmade's black class collection, and is designed as a tactical knife for first responders and soldiers. This is clear when you look at the blade. The tip is namely enhanced with a tanto-style shape, perfect for self-defence and penetrating tasks. Benchmade selected 3V-steel for the blade. One of the most tough and robust types of steel at the moment. This steel can easily handle heavy-duty use. In addition, it retains its sharpness well and is relatively easy to sharpen. This version of the Bailout has a partially serrated blade. Incredibly practical when cutting through a piece of rope or other type of high-fibre material. It is also important to know that CPM 3V is not 100% stainless. Benchmade solved this problem by giving the Bailout a tough grey cerakote-coating. A remarkable detail is the aluminium backspacer which is enhanced with an elongated lanyard hole. The backspacer can be used as a glass breaker.

 The Benchmade 537 Bailout has a slightly shorter deep-carry pocket clip than most models. Less steel means less weight: another detail Benchmade thought carefully about. You are, of course, able to place the clip on both sides to make it the perfect knife for both left and right-handed use.
