The **Böker Manufaktur Black Wood Scale Tang 140559** is a top-quality straight razor. Böker has been producing straight razors for over a hundred years and has an excellent reputation in this field. This *straight razor* is made in the Böker workshop in Solingen, Germany. Remarkable about this knife is that the tang of the blade is enhanced with an African Blackwood inlay which looks a lot like ebony.



This straight razor has an *extra hollow* grind with a *ridge*. The extra hollow grind gives you an extremely thin edge which is also a little flexible. This razor is amazing to work with but perhaps not as suited for heavy beard growth. The *ridge* ensures that the spine of the blade is thick enough to be blocked by the handle. In addition, the spine provides support when determining the right sharpening angle while stropping and sharpening.



This straight razor is enhanced with a round tip. The handle is made from olive wood. A stunning Mediterranean type of wood that has an amazing pattern and smells great.

Böker used carbon steel for this straight razor. Although the technical number 1.2210 might not mean that much to most, the term *Solingen steel* has an excellent reputation worldwide.
