Large and strong all-round knife for heavy-duty use. 

Made from San Mai III, a laminate, where the actual edge, made from hard steel, is enclosed between two parts of tough steel. 

This construction leaves you with a rock-solid knife, of which the tang of the knife runs throughout the entire Kraton handle. 

This is, of course, a knife for outdoor use. The 8 mm thick (!) convex edge excels at all the chopping and cutting work you throw at it. 

The handle is enhanced with a lanyard eye and the knife comes with a decent cordura sheath. 

You can already hear Crocodile Dundee say: That ain't no knife, THIS is a knife!

Bloedscherp en bloedmooi handgemaakt Japans kwaliteitsprodukt. Een 5 sterren kwa prijs-/kwaliteitsverhouding en een 4 sterren op punt “voldoet aan verwachtingen?”.
Een 4 sterren beoordeling voor “voldoet aan verwachting” ipv 5 met als reden dat het Bowie mes is ontworpen en gemaakt om te performen. Heb dit laatste (nog) niet op de proef gesteld doch de verwachting ook daar is zeker hoog. Een Juweel om te bezitten.

The Trial Master is a Cold Steel classic and icon. Bought this San Mai version more as a collectable and it is beautiful. For utility the 3V version might be a better option. Of the CS bowie like knives, the Trail Master has in my opinion the best looks and proportions. The handle seems grippy enough for hard work under less-than-optimal conditions. If one had to have only one Cold Steel fixed knife, this would be my choice. Recommended in everyone’s collection and for those that put it hard at work, albeit in the latter the 3V version might be better. For the looks the San Mai is my choice.
