The CRKT Ripsnort is a solid pocket knife, designed by Philip Booth. When you are looking for a subtle and slim pocket knife for the more detailed jobs you should continue your search. After all, the Ripsnort is not meant for that. The CRKT Ripsnort is designed as a cleaver, so a chopping knife. The blade is thick. The handle is thick. Everything is thick except for the price. That is very much affordable!
The cleaver-blade is made from 8Cr13MoV steel. A stainless type of steel that retains its sharpness well. Easy to sharpen yourself, especially because of the cleaver shape. You open the blade with the flipper. One firm click and it is open. Subsequently the liner lock keeps the blade in place. Whether the term liner lock is still correct here is almost debatable. After all, these liners are so thick that the lock might almost be a framelock.
The handle is made from POM: plastic with a nice finish. In order to offer some contrast with the large black surface Booth chose a stainless steel inlay. A stunning detail on an amazing knife.
