 The handle of this Deejo pocket knife is made from coral wood. This type of wood is also called Padauk. A beautiful amber-coloured type of wood that originated in the forests of Africa. This tree can grow 50 meters tall and 30 meters wide. Characterizing for this type of wood is the warm orange-red colour that has turned it into one of the most remarkable trees on earth. This colour is also called coral-red. Hence the name 'coral wood'.

Messer entspricht genau der Beschreibung, bei artgerechtem Einsatz macht es viel Freude, es ist halt kein Survival-Messer.

Das Deejo Wood 37 g  mit Coralwood-Griffen wurde von mir als EDC-Messer angeschafft, also für die alltäglichen Schneidarbeiten, wie Karton schneiden, Obst schälen/schneiden usw. und gehört für mich somit in die Kategorie "Gentlemen-Messer". Mit seinen 37 g ist es wirklich sehr leicht und liegt besser in der Hand, als ich zu Anfang wegen dem dünnen Griff befürchtet hatte. Das Messer ist tadellos ausgeführt, der Klappmechanismus hat kein Spiel, die Verriegelung verrichtet hörbar seinen Dienst und es kam von Haus aus mit einer ordentlichen Schärfe an. Nach einer kurzen Unterhaltung mit meinem Spyderco Sharpmaker ist es zum Armhaare rasieren scharf und die Standzeit ist bislang sehr zufriedenstellend. Aufgrund seiner geringen Ausmaße und Gewichts bemerkt man im Alltag nur ganz selten, daß man es dabei hat und es trägt nicht auf. 
Man sollte im Einsatz lediglich bedenken, daß dieses Messer mehr anhand seiner Schärfe als anhand des aufgewendeten Drucks schneidet und man seitliche Kräfte vermeiden sollte, schließlich ist es kein massives Outdoormesser.
Es verrichtet seinen Dienst im urbanen Umfeld klaglos und ich würde mir für diesen Zweck dieses Messer jederzeit wieder kaufen.
