The **Due Cigni 1896 kengata** is an elegant kitchen knife. Kengata means 'sword-like' in Japanese, referring to the sharply sloping end of the blade. Other than that, the knife can be regarded as a member of the santoku family. The narrow tip is ideal for finely cutting meat, fish and vegetables. 

## Due Cigni 1896 handle

The handle is made from dark walnut wood. It gives the knife a classic, stylish look. The handle is rounded and therefore feels amazing in hand. The handle is secured to the full-tang blade with three attractive rivets. To maintain the stunning colour of the walnut wood, and to not affect the sharpness of the blade, we recommend cleaning this knife by hand. Dry it after cleaning it to prevent discolourations or cracks and to make sure the wood doesn't bend. 

## Due Cigni 1896 blade

The blade is made from X50Cr15MOV stainless steel and has a smooth, razor-sharp edge. This type of steel is highly resistant to stains and rust. In addition, you can also easily sharpen it yourself if it loses some of its sharpness over time. 

## Due Cigni 1896 collection

The kitchen knives from the Due Cigni 1896 collection were designed by Oreste Frati. In addition to being the owner of Fox Knives, Oreste is also a gifted designer. For the design of these knives, he looked at the design of classic European chef's knives. He drew inspiration from this design and then made it his own. You can tell when you look at the flowing lines of the walnut wood handle. The thin blade makes the knife lightweight and wonderfully easy to use. The knives are made in Italy.

Due Cigni, which means 'two swans' in Italian, is a traditional Italian knife manufacturer that has been producing top-quality kitchen knives, shears, scissors and saws for over 100 years. All products are made in the Italian knife capital of Maniago. Some years ago, the brand was bought by FOX Cutlery, also located in Maniago.
