The Forge de Laguiole 129 is a nice Laguiole knife, for an amazing price. The blade is polished, just like the bolsters. The handle is made from micarta. This is a composite material of linen and synthetic resin.
You open this Laguiole knife with two hands and a slipjoint will keep the knife in place when opened. This means that you will only experience resistance from closing, not a hard lock. Fitting for a gentleman's knife like this.
As one of the few Laguiole-producers Forge de Laguiole still produces knives in the village of Laguiole. There are many Laguiole pocket knives on sale, but only a few have the quality and look and feel of Forge de Laguiole. With a knife such as this you show class and taste.

Nice knife to hold in my hand, with good balance between handle and blade (my hands are on the large size for a man). Sharp, straight from the box. Looks like an archetypal gentleman's pocket knife. Not too heavy, fits discretely in my pocket for when I need it (I use it quite often to cut up fruit). I keep mine in a shark skin sleeve, in my trouser/coat pocket and wouldn't be without it.
