The **Gerber Applegate-Fairbairn Covert** is a classic among pocket knives. An iconic model: large, tactical, made in the United States. This model is based on the well-known designs of Col. Rex Applegate and William R. Fairbairn. Two pioneers in the knife world. Their dagger-like fixed knives have served as the template for this Applegate-Fairbairn Covert Folder.

The blade is pointed and razor sharp. The grind almost makes it seem as if the spine is also sharp, but fortunately that is not the case. This does mean the tip is nice and thin, though. You open the Applegate Combat Folder with the thumb stud. The large blade is then secured by the liner lock with a reassuring click. There is also a secondary lock on this, so you can't unintentionally unlock the liner lock. A great safety feature! The edge is partially serrated. These serrations are perfect for cutting through high-fibre materials such as rope and cardboard.

The large FRN handle has some longitudinal grooves, which offer a little bit of extra grip. They also accentuate the slim shape of the pocket knife. The knife comes with a sturdy pocket clip so you can easily carry it with you. It prevents you from losing the pocket knife from out of your pocket.
