The Hultafors SK Safety Knife is a safety knife with a blunt tip. What is a safety knife? A safety knife is a knife with a blunt point. This reduces the risk of sticking injuries. That makes these knives perfect for young scouts who want to get acquainted with bushcraft. The edge is of course very sharp though, so caution is still required!
The blade is made from Japanese carbon steel. This is a sturdy steel that is easy to sharpen. It isn't stainless, though, so take care around moisture and acids. The handle is made from polypropylene. This is a durable plastic that will last for years and years. Prefer a stainless steel blade? Then this stainless steel version of the Safety Knife is a better option.
The knife comes with a handy sheath so you can carry it on a belt up to 4 cm wide. You can also hang it from a button on your overalls. To do this, unclip the belt loop, slide the button in and then click it into place. Very practical!
